HandsOn River Region (HON-RR) operates under the umbrella of the Volunteer and Information Center (VIC) which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Since 1974, HON-RR has made it easy for volunteers to find service opportunities throughout the five-county River Region: Montgomery, Autauga, Elmore, Lowndes, and Macon Counties. HON-RR is an affiliate of the Points of Light and HandsOn Network, the largest volunteer network in the country. In 2010, VIC’s program adopted the name HandsOn River Region. HON-RR recruits and mobilizes volunteers for recurring volunteer needs and for projects that occur periodically, or perhaps just once.
