Christmas Clearing House, formed in 1980, partners with agencies, organizations and individuals in the River Region that assist families in need during the Christmas season. CCH eliminates duplication of giving so resources are distributed to a greater number of those in need. CCH and its partners assist approximately 10,000 individuals each year, including more than 6,000 children.
● Applications are received from families in need through many different social service organizations and faith based groups, who screen applicants for eligibility.
● Names are then entered in the CCH database to coordinate assistance and eliminate duplication of giving whenever possible, reaching the maximun number of families in need.
Our goal is to insure assistance for all those enrolled. This goal is accomplished in two ways.
ADOPT-A-FAMILY PROGRAM ● Businesses, churches, organizations, schools and private individuals adopt families through CCH and provide them with much needed assistance. By shopping for the family and purchasing food, toys, and clothing, these groups are able to truly experience the joy of giving to others who are less fortunate. The amount of money spent and/or number and type of gifts is at the discretion of the volunteer. If you would like to participate in our Adopt-A-Family program during the upcoming holiday season, please contact Christmas Clearing House.
MONETARY DONATIONS TO CHRISTMAS CLEARING HOUSE ● Sending a donation to the Christmas Clearing House is a wonderful way to help area residents and simplify your holiday gift giving. Donations are used to provide gift certificates for the families not adopted so they may have the opportunity to shop for their Christmas needs. Donations are accepted year round, are tax deductible, and will be earmarked to assist those less fortunate in the River Region during the holiday season.
