When a disaster strikes the River Region, your help will be invaluable.
Your may be needed to clear debris, sort donations, make sandwiches, comfort victims, assist in the assignment of volunteers or answer phones. The Volunteer and Information Center (VIC) will serve as a connection between volunteers and the people and places needing help. VIC will set up a Volunteer Registration Center for walk-in volunteers. We will also utilize the 1800Volunteer.org site for volunteer registration.
211Connects South Central Alabama will become a critical tool when a disaster hits. The system will be used to mobilize and manage volunteers, serve as an intake for service providers, and become the connection to citizens who have non-emergency needs and need reassurance.
To find out how you or your business/organization can become a volunteer after a disaster, call us: 334-264-4636 ext. 1.
