June, July – Montgomery Public Library – Juliette Hampton Morgan, Summer Reading Programs – K-5th grade – Most Wednesdays and Thursdays of June and July. Volunteers needed to assist with the summer reading program and various activities that involve water activities and science experiments. Must love working with children and be ready to get messy. June 12 – Paint Dannelly School – For organized groups – Looking for volunteers to paint the interior of Dannelly School during the week of June 14 – 18. Great opportunity for businesses to get involved. Much of the work will be done on June 12 (volunteer slots filled for that day), but more work will be necessary the following week. If interested, contact VIC.
June 26 – River Region Connect – an event to connect homeless and shelter residents to medical needs and other services, and also a fun day for the families, including children’s games, lunch, etc. About 60 volunteers needed to help with set up, clean up, registration, food, children’s and adult games and more. Call VIC, 264-4636 ext. 1
July 13 – Let’s Get Real: Healthy Teens, Healthy Families, and Responsible Fatherhood Regional Summit at the Renaissance Hotel – need 15 volunteers to stuff summit packets, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Lunch on your own.
July 5 – 30 – MANE’s Integrated Summer Camp. 8:30 a.m. – noon to help with horses, side walking, crafts, and assisting children with and without disabilities. 5 days/week for 4 weeks. Call VIC to sign up.
